Under the name “Slam Funk,” the Brasshearts are the official brass band for all home games for the New Orleans Pelicans during the 2024-2025 season!
Accepted into the Krewe of Rex ‘22, ‘23, ‘24, and ‘25
The historic Krewe of Rex rolls through New Orleans on Mardi Gras Day, with tens of thousands in attendance on the route and millions more watching with the parade being nationally televised.
Featured live on ESPN
Multiple performances having been televised nationally, the SEC Nation crew loved working with the band so much, that they now call the band whenever they come into town. The band performed live with sports commentator Markus Spears in 2022 for a segment during LSU gameday coverage, and the band was featured in 2024 for ESPN College Gameday for LSU Women’s Basketball coverage.

The Brasshearts have performed multiple bills with New Orleans legends Rebirth Brass Band, with the band opening for them in 2022 for the Abita Fall Fest, and for another performance at the legendary Howlin Wolf during Mardi Gras weekend, February 2024.
